Main opposition New Democracy (ND) spokesman Vassilis Kikilias on Thursday sternly attacked the government over the ongoing negotiation with the institutions claiming that “Mr. Tsipras and Mr. Tsakalotos are bringing the fourth memorandum by the back door”.

He clarified that “ND will not vote the new package of fiscal measures”. He also said that the request for elections is not linked with the completion of the second review. “SYRIZA can’t be part in the huge effort for the country’s reconstructuring because it only invests in division”.

On the conclusion of the second review, Kikilias said that the government has made a series of statements and forecasts that have been proved wrong. “ND says that the review must be concluded in the best possible way. The delay and the elections in European countries raise demands for harsher measures”, stated Kikilias in his briefing to the press.

On the national issues he said that “we defend with seriousness and firmness without flare-ups our national issues”.
